The Senior Football team managed by Mr Flanagan and Mr Dooley traveled to Newbridge to face Newbridge Community college on Wednesday last in search of there first win this year. in previous games this year in the league Colaiste Mhuire just fell short to schools such as Navan and Moate. But this time around the players felt confident on picking up there first win before the christmas break. The game started with a good physical battle between both teams. Colaiste Mhuire came out of the traps quickly and scores from David Whelahan,Luke Loughlinn,Shane Dempsey helped set them to a seven points to one at half time.Great workrate from each man in a Colaiste Mhuire jersey was evident throughout and with the introduction of substitutions helped pull away from a Newbridge side who credit to them fighted until the end. With great defending from captain Brendan Flynn and Andrew Purcell Colaiste Mhuire had agreat defence and the game was completely finished when a long ball in by Efe Siode was caught by Luke Loughlinn and he finished it calmly into the back of the net.

Mr. Dillon tells me that a talented senior football panel is now gearing up for the first round of the Leinster Championship. We had a good League run with victories over Portlaoise CBS, Edenderry and Athlone CC. We qualified for the League semi but lost out by two points to St. Pats Navan in an extra-time thriller.
Tom Doyle and Dean McNicholas form a solid midfield partnership while Aengus Clarke, Efe Siode, Cian Carty and Paul Maxwell have shown up well in defence. Neal Kirby, David Whelan, Niall O’Brien and David Higgins have caught the eye among the forwards.
The poor weather has left the date of our Championship match against Dublin team St. Benildus, Kilmacud uncertain but we urge parents to support the lads’ efforts.
