Under the guidance of Mr. Damien Lawler and Mr. Gary McMahon, athletes in Coláiste Mhuire have reaped major titles in recent years. This success continues on into 2018 as provincial titles were secured at the Leinster Cross Country Championships last week. First Year student Diarmuid Fagan raced into first at junior level. Our intermediate team made up of Andrew Daly, Eoin Quinn, Rian Hogan, Colin Smith, Paul McCool, Oisin Loughlin, Conor Gibney, Kevin Martin, Charlie Drumm and Ciaran Luby took second place on the podium earning a silver medal for themselves. Seasoned competitors Jamie Battle, Ciarán Nolan, Jack Moran, John Whitelaw, James Drumn, Euan Lagan and Brian Mairtin made up our senior team and claimed gold.
Three Leinster medals is an incredible return and this is the fruition of talent, hard work and a high standard of coaching. Coláiste Mhuire students are no strangers to success in a broad range of sports, however the athletics department are collecting medals at a phenomenal rate. Congrats lads and keep it up!
