Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
"And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger"- Luke 2:7
It is Christmas...and an academic year that began with uncertainty, has been pretty okay. Across the country, students returned to school in late August and many expected the return to be short lived. Four months later we can look back and say it went quite well. A lot of things about school didn't return; sports, BT Young Scientist, trips to Achill, trips to Castledaly, dramas and musicals, to name just a few. These things still belong to the real normal that we hope will return soon. However, what did return was our most prized element, our students. Corridors and classrooms were given life again. March, April and May online thought us all that school was more than learning, it was a place we laughed and grew. Google Classroom hosted our academics but there were a thousand little things we could never upload. The last term has been a challenge but one we overcame and enjoyed. We leave now for Christmas less anxious than when we arrived in autumn. To all our students, staff, their families and the wider Mullingar community, have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year.
