Mixed fortunes for football and hurling teams.
Our GAA teams have had different outcomes in championship this week. Both our senior footballers and our U16 hurlers were in action on Tuesday. The footballers took on St.Pat's of Navan in Pairc Tailteann. Unfortunately two early goals proved costly at the final whistle, however the team battled back throughout the game. The result, although disappointing, does not extinguish Coláiste Mhuire's hopes of qualification. This will depend on the outcome of the upcoming fixture against Edenderry.
The U16 hurlers also found themselves battling back against an early deficit. The were down by 14 points at half time only to win by 3. Mr. M. Lawler and Mr. Kelly's troops put in a phenomenal second half performance to emerge victorious. In his post match analysis Mr. Lawler noted the effort of the collective, "There were a several players who played exceptionally well but the entire team played a part in ensuring we came out on the right side of the result." A North Leinster final awaits the forces with a date, venue and opposition still to be decided.
On both fronts,we march on.
